The Federal Government has confirmed people with a disability will no longer be able to access sex workers under the National Disability Insurance Scheme with the minister responsible, Bill Shorten, saying it "doesn't pass the test."
Specialised sex services have been available through the NDIS since 2020 when the Federal Court ruled that the Disability Insurance Agency should approve those services where they were deemed reasonable and necessary.
Now some people with disability are asking whether able-bodied politicians should be able to make important decisions that affect their personal lives.
