Why Playstation 4 Changed My Xbox One Routine - 294

Playstation 4 sold over 35.9 million consoles as of January 3rd. PS4's exclusive titles include Street Fighter V, The Order: 1886, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and God of War Remastered - to name a few. As great as those accolades are and they are indeed great, they weren't the top reasons why I wanted the Playstation. 

  • Netflix launched its service globally, simultaneously bringing its Internet TV network to more than 130 new countries around the world.

  • Plex is now free on Xbox and Playstation
  • Over 70% of North American traffic is now streaming audio and video
  • North American anime distributor FUNimation partnered with Sony to bring you FUNimationNow.
  • Apple working on cordless earbuds
  • EMIO’s Mega Man HD LED headphones look awesome, where’s the specs?
  • Nintendo World Store will close on January 19 for renovations, and re-open on February 19. When it reopens expect an updated interior, 3DS and Wii U demos, and a 15-foot gaming screen.
  • OpenShot 2.0, the video editing tool hits beta
  • Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 is on January 14 and ends on January 18. It'll feature a King of the Hill mode, a 24-person gametype, and four maps.
  • Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, and Rise of the Tomb Raider have each sold over one million copies on Xbox One.
  • EA's Star Wars Battlefront sold 12 million copies since its release in November. It sold 6 million copies in November and an additional 6 million in December
  • Microsoft is now saying that Gears 4 will release in Fall 2016
  • DC Universe Online is coming to Xbox One
  • Far Cry Primal won’t have Co-Op
  • According to Tech Insider, Microsoft has confirmed it expects supply for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller to be limited through March 2016.
  • Neil Druckmann told The Sun that it will be difficult to do a sequel for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Will this be the last time we see Nathan Drake?
  • Head of Remedy / Quantum Break PR Thomas Puha said Quantum Break is "so close to being done," the "team is getting pretty tired," but it’s "inspiring to see the camaraderie."
  • Watch 16 minutes of Dying Light’s ‘The Following’ DLC
  • Outlast 2 will not be set in the Asylum but will feature the ‘hide and seek’ gameplay mechanic.

  • Sony announced today that it sold more than 5.7 million PlayStation 4 systems throughout the 2015 holiday season. This brings the total units sold to over 35.9 million, as of January 3, 2016.
