As a Christian, you have direct access to the heavenly throne of God. But your prayers may not be getting through. There is a protocol for prayer. You must be filled with the Holy Spirit (no unconfessed sin in your life 1 John 1:9). Pray to God the Father and in the name of Jesus Christ. Your prayers may not be answered because you ignore the mandate to study and grow spiritually. “Stop thinking of yourself in terms of arrogance beyond what you should think but thinking terms of humility as God has assigned to each one of us a standard of thinking from His Word” (Rom 12:1-3). Another reason for unanswered prayer is the wrong motivation. “You ask and do not receive because you ask amiss so that you can consume it upon your lust” (James 4:3). Be sure and use the faith-rest technique when you pray. The Holy Spirit makes intercession on our behalf “The Spirit helps with our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit makes intercession for us” (Rom 8:26).
