On Wednesday, Stanford sent shock waves across the NCAA with the announcement that 11 sports - field hockey, wrestling, men’s and women’s fencing, lightweight rowing, men’s rowing, co-ed and women’s sailing, squash, synchronized swimming and men’s volleyball - will be eliminated at the conclusion of the 2020-2021 academic school year.
