I spent 14 months alcohol-free while training for back-to-back ultra races, including the 100K I went on to win. What shocked me wasn’t just how much my athletic performance skyrocketed, but how much clearer, calmer, lighter, and more energetic I felt every single day. When I finally tried a regular beer again, it tasted like cough syrup and my brain fog lasted for days. That’s when I committed to replacing alcohol with non-alcoholic alternatives long term.
