Last week in a coaching session I said something that made the room go quiet:
You need to start going home on time.
Because being busy doesn’t mean you’re building anything.
You can stay late.
Work long hours.
Fight the same fires.
Have the same conversations.
Miss the same targets.
And tell yourself, “At least we’re working hard.”
📍 Here’s the dagger line:
Time spent keeps you busy. Time invested makes you better.
Most leaders don’t have a time problem.
They have a leverage problem.
Time spent disappears.
Time invested compounds.
Elite leaders ask a different question at the end of the day.
Not “What did I get done?”
But “What did I do today that will make tomorrow easier?”
If today didn’t reduce tomorrow’s friction,
you didn’t invest time — you burned it.
Steal this line:
Elite leaders don’t measure effort. They measure carryover.
That’s how progress compounds instead of resetting every morning.
Go invest your time today.
Build something that lasts.
