The Audacity of Self Kindness knows that feeling better isn’t the goal - at first
All week I’ve been working on this theme with my clients. “How come I don’t feel better? I want to feel better!”
Wanting to feel better is not the issue, it’s believing that what you are experiencing isn’t the key to feeling better and that belief causes you to not feel better faster.
So with each client I invite them to first allow for and attend to the part that doesn’t feel better. Whether it’s a thought or a physical pain or discomfort.
And every client has had the same reaction, as they make space for and allow for the discomfort simply be OK, the feeling shifts on its own.
