Retreat is a multi functional word... The English Language always keeps us guessing with its meanings and definitions of words. As frustrating as it is for a new learner of the language, we tend to relish on how many ways you can go with one simple word.
If Retreat is used during war, it is usually a derogatory term. If Retreat is used in any type of conflict, it is usually put in place to spell out defeat, loss, weakness, or running away. However, if we use the word retreat and we add people we love, a nice hotel, and stillness for rejuvenation, it sounds like a magical word and evokes a completely different emotion.
One word can morph and change a person's feelings and actions by simply changing the sentence/thought associated around it.
So how do YOU retreat? Will you choose to do in a fun way and think of it as exactly what the doctor ordered... or be forced to do it as your brain offers you the flight or fight response and you choose the flight. Either way, it is a natural part of the human existence and if Beth and I are the ones choosing, we prefer the nice hotel with peace and friendship in a scheduled way.
We would love you to join us on our upcoming retreat called "Becoming Whole- Body, Mind, & Soul" and we will teach you how to retreat in that magical way.
