Petrol, diesel and coal are fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are hundreds of millions of years old, but in the last 200 years consumption has increased rapidly, leaving fossil fuel reserves depleted. Reserves are becoming harder to locate, and the current resources won’t last forever. By the year 2080, the world's supply of oil will be in steep decline. Over 1 million gallons of oil are spilled each year.
