Why Yes, We're Friends episodes

  • 81 - Death By Snu Snu

Brendon and Ronnie are excited for new episodes of Futurama. They're celebrating the only way they know how... by reminiscing on some of their favorite past episodes. What exactly is Nature's Pocket? Why does Scooty Puff Jr. suck? And does everyone really know that women are from Omicron Persei 7, while men are from Omicron Persei 9? You'll hear it! You won't unhear it! Along the way, Brendon talks about recently seeing Modest Mouse and The Flaming Lips, and believes we missed an opportunity to have called the 2000s "the aughts." Ronnie melts down a little in the aftermath of the Dodgers losing in Baltimore after being an out away from a No Hitter, and does a decent Rod Serling impression.

  • 80 - Racing & Rivalries

Brendon and Ronnie start with the recent news that Formula 1 is expanding as they welcome Cadillac as an 11th team. Then they carry over their hype for the new NFL season by talking about the shocking trade that the Cowboys made and giving their thoughts on the Rivalry uniforms that will debut later this year. Along the way the fellas wonder what the past tense of "glow" is, believe the old New England Patriots logo was frightening, and disagree on the uniforms for Seattle and San Francisco. (It might surprise you.) Brendon enjoyed the pleasantness of Lewis Hamilton's dominant run over Max Verstappen's, and he wears black, orange, and teal whenever he can. Ronnie is curious as to when F1 will have an American driving for Cadillac, and he splits hairs between the two greens that the New York Jets bounce between.

  • 79 - The Leaguewide Special

Brendon and Ronnie are getting everyone ready for the 2025 NFL Season the only way they know how: looking at win total over/unders, and guessing the drink orders for new coaches. Along the way, the fellas talk about how Al Davis had a better haircut than his son, teach everyone what a Gin Rickey is, and remind everyone of Liam Coen's infamous introductory press conference. Brendon believes the Lions might have lost too many coaches to sustain success, thinks the Houston Texans are the L.A. Clippers of the NFL, and he just can't escape Pete Carroll coaching teams he dislikes. Ronnie reveals his "favorite" East Coast city, thinks Joe Burrow might be the best quarterback in the NFL, and is definitely checking Kellen Moore's ID.

For this episode, we used ESPN's 2025 NFL Season Betting Odds.

  • 78 - List of Fury: List Bump

Brendon and Ronnie are bringing four lists to talk about, after making some tweaks to their List of Fury format. Along the way, they talk about the magic of exploration in open world video games, remember the best wrestlers from the Golden Age, and wonder if a list would lump together famous siblings like the Williamses and the Mannings. Brendon reminds us all how many media formats ago the Dallas Cowboys were champions, reveals what his children call A League of Their Own, and needs only one word to get Ronnie to guess a famous Olympic swimmer. Ronnie is surprised in this episode by how high the Los Angeles Clippers are valued, how low the "Macho Man" Randy Savage ranked, and how much money The Blindside made in the box office.

  • 77 - Le Spécial Kozibear: Casse-croûte and Question Shoot

Brendon and Ronnie welcome back to the pod Alex Kozina, known in these parts as Kozibear. The three go on a culinary journey through the Canadian province of Quebec and round out with a series of conversational questions. Along the way, the fellas talk about dubious personal streaks in sports, wonder what Solid Snake would be like as a D&D player, and discuss eating a variety of things from French tacos to Beaver Tails to synthetic human meat. Brendon went to a Giants game for a wrestling promotion and learns about the Souslike video game genre. Ronnie brings up the famous Swiss Chalet sauce and cried at one of his own birthday parties.

  • 76 - Around The World With Daft Sports

Brendon and Ronnie talk about a number of topics that span the globe. They jetset from Japan to New Jersey, reporting on different kinds of wrestling, then go from Europe to Connecticut to California, talking about the movement of F1 cars, soccer players, and even whole franchises. Along the way, the fellas talk about a sumo wrestler who threw seat cushions in frustration, fantasy name nonexistent franchises in the WNBA, and marvel at how four homeruns in a game has been done twice this season. Brendon is both analytical and optimistic about the Giants post-Trade Deadline, nicknames the F1 track for Las Vegas, and begs Ronnie for the millionth time to watch Ted Lasso. Ronnie learns something about Skip Bayless's family, teaches us all what the Spanish announcers table at a WWE show really is, and wonders aloud what the colorway would be for a team called the Clams.

  • 75 - WrassleFrassle IV

Brendon and Ronnie are talking about pro wrestling this week! They start with their palpable excitement for this weekend's SummerSlam card, and then put a spotlight on the death of Hulk Hogan and talk about their other favorite top-tier wrestlers. Along the way, they emphasize that Krypto is better than crypto, talk about how most celebrity matches are letdowns, and remember the 8th and 9th Wonders of the World. Brendon went disc golfing for the first time since his surgery, declares himself the Patron Saint of Produce Bags, and gushes for his love of WWF wrestlers in the late 80s. Ronnie wonders if this weekend is when Charlotte Flair gets her groove back, introduces us all to a Japanese wrestler with a Spanish catchphrase, and he really doesn't recommend Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice...

  • 74 - The Uchimuso Middle

Brendon and Ronnie are excited about the upcoming MLB Trade Deadline and talking through who in the "mushy middle" will buy and who will sell. However, they first have to discuss results from the Grand Sumo Tournament and how professional baseball still exists in Oakland. Along the way, the fellas ponder if a hot dog is a sandwich, talk more about the Rafael Devers trade, and remember California League teams from 20 years ago. Brendon brings up a fun thing he does with the Black-Capped Chickadee, introduces us all to what an uchimuso is, and recalls meeting a very confused Giants fan. Ronnie brings up Coast-to-Coast AM for some reason, mixes up Bob and John Denver, and is apparently very enamored with Manny Ramirez.

  • 73 - From Sun To Starzz And Back Again

Brendon and Ronnie are getting through the quiet time of the summer where the MLB is in its All-Star Break and the WNBA is about to enter their own. And they get through it the best way that they can: by ranking the WNBA's logos! Along the way, the fellas remember the late 90s when Will Smith was a sci-fi darling, notice the word "Sky" has no vowels, and see an old baseball logo when they look at the Indiana Fever. Brendon makes a connection between the Connecticut Sun and CSU Northridge and can't not see the Angels logo within the Atlanta Dream logo. Ronnie shouts out a special birthday wish, and attempts to beatbox a variety of EDM styles.

  • 72 - It's Such A Fine Line Between Stupid And Uh... Clever

Brendon and Ronnie are gearing up for that weird week in Summer where baseball is in the All-Star Break and nothing much is happening. They talk about the previous weekend's Gold Cup Final between the USA and Mexico, make another minor rivalry bet for the Dodgers and Giants, and much more. However, the big topic is revisiting the over/under projections the fellas made before pitchers and catchers reported -- and looking at how they're going... Brendon saw This Is Spinal Tap... in theaters recently, is excited for two whole weeks of Sumo wrestling, and makes a new projection involving the Giants breaking a dubious streak. Ronnie is excited for the new Superman flick, is reminded that he had naive hopes for the Colorado Rockies, and wants to have a cup of coffee with Hunter Pence.
