Queensland's local seafood industry could be in danger of being overrun by foreign interference following the Australian Environmental Minister, Tanya Plibersek’s plan to halt Tasmanian salmon farming in Macquarie Harbour.
The President of the Queensland Seafood Marketers Association Ian Hamilton told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, 'there's plenty stuff from the Gulf this year, plenty of fish around.'
'It's good just to see local people get on their fishmongers and support the Australian wild caught and aquaculture as well and most of it Queensland caught.'
'You've got the fishermen, they continue to innovate, they continue to do the best they can and above and beyond what they need to do,' he said.
