On this week's Ithaca Now, News Director George Christopher sits down with the city's of Ithaca's newest Common Councilor and WICB News Correspondent Joshua Pantano tells us about the Ithaca College Spring Visiting Author Speaker Series. Hosted by Liam McDermott.

On Tuesday, a special election was held in the Tompkins County Legislature’s Third District. The election was called after the resignation of two-term Democrat Henry Gransion last year. Granison resigned due to his battle with cancer, and passed away shortly after. Local Democrats chose former Director of the Tompkins County Public Library Susan Currie as their nominee. Currie ran unopposed taking over 98 percent of the vote according to unofficial results published by the county board of elections. With Currie’s victory Democrats will return to the 11-3 majority they briefly lost after Granison resigned in October. WICB News Director George Christopher sat down with Currie to learn more about her and her goals in the county legislature.

We’re going to hear part of the second episode of HAYA or how are you actually with Katelyn Smith and WICB news director Bec Legato spoke with representatives from the League of Women Voters in the second part of a two part conversation to learn more about the organization and to speak on issues on the local ballot.

Ithaca College, among a couple of other school’s on the east coast were invited to go to the White House to celebrate World College Radio Day. They were able to hear from multiple different representatives from the White House and even received a tour of the Eisenhower Executive Building and the Press Room. WICB News Director Bec Legato spoke with Connor Hibbard and Andy Tell, station managers of WICB and VIC and the two representatives who got the chance to attend this event.
