Edgewell Personal Care, which is the parent company of Schick, announced that the manufacturer is closing its doors and laying off nearly 300 employees. The manufacturing plant in Milford will completely close the plant by the end of 2027. We spoke with Attorney Gary Phelan, employment attorney with Hurwitz, Sagarin and Slossberg in Milford.

The Connecticut ACLU is demanding that cities and towns stop using automatic license plate readers. The organization is calling for a pause in the use of these devices by police departments over allegations that personal data is being misused. We spoke with the Connecticut ACLU Executive Director, David McGuire.

Drugmaker Novo Nordisk says it will make the popular weight GLP-1 weight loss medication Wegovy more affordable for those without insurance coverage, dropping the price to $349 a month. The news comes weeks after the Trump Administration announced negotiating weight loss drug prices making them more accessible to consumers. We spoke with Dr. Joseph St. Pierre with Hartford Healthcare’s St. Vincent’s Medical Center about the ongoing news with price cuts on these injectables.

All bills passed in the House during the first day of special session yesterday. The one piece of legislation getting most of the attention is the housing legislation. All five Connecticut members of the U.S. House voted against the bill to end the federal government shutdown.  The five Democratic lawmakers were on the losing side, as the Republican led House approved the bill last night and sent it to President Trump's desk for his signature. We spoke with Congressman Jim Himes following the news overnight.
