The festival is presented by the Wakefield Rotary Club, and proceeds from this event benefit several charities. The South County Balloon Festival features Tethered Hot Air Balloon rides* in morning and evening, family entertainment, crafters, carnival rides, car show, food vendors, live music (Friday & Saturday Nights), Balloon Glow* (Fri, Sat), fishing pond, bounce houses, and lots of other family fun. Entry is payable at the gate. Balloon rides* and carnival rides have additional fee. Roomful of Blues kicks off the festival Friday at 6:30 PM (rain or shine) Billy Gilman Concert on Saturday 7:00 PM (rain or shine) General admission to the festival is $10 and children 10 and under are free all weekend. The mission of the Carousel Summerfest is to assist in the preservation of Pawtucket's historic gem, the Slater Park Looff Carousel.
