Today we discussed a few diet trends we have come across through the years. We are neither for or against any of them...well almost. And we are not experts or nutritionists. We are simply discussing our experience with each one. If you have experience with any of the ones we discussed we would love to hear about it. Hop on over to one of our social accounts and leave us a comment with your experience.
While we aren't nutritionists we do believe your diet plays a huge role in your overall health. The old saying, "You are what you eat" is so true. You can feel it in your well being when you aren't eating well. Garbage food isn't just bad for your waistline, it can cause all kinds of problems with your health. Eat well and live well.
Have you heard our first trends episode. The trad wife trend is one that has made a reappearance in recent years. Give our episode a listen HERE to hear our thoughts on it.

With the spring flowers showing off all their glory, it is time to start thinking about gardening. On today's show, we discussed a few of our first gardening tasks. It feels so good to be outside playing in the dirt again. Whether you're planting peas or getting your tiny tomato seeds under the grow lights, it is such a good time to think about what you want to accomplish in the garden this year. Join us for this discussion on the possibilities.
Today we discussed some of our first gardening tasks. If you're a new gardener, this can feel very daunting. There is so much to do and the window for getting them done seems painfully small. One of the things we talked about is how forgiving your garden can be on timelines. If you're running a little behind, have no fear. There is still plenty of time. If you have a Saturday to start planning you're right back in the game. So please don't give up before you start.
We also got into a few specifics on things we like to plant early. There are a surprising number of things that can be in the ground and almost producing before the last frost date. And there is really nothing better than being out in the garden planting tomatoes and taking a pea eating break. Yum! The perfect snack to get you right back to planting those little seedlings.

Today we started a new series where we discuss current trends and what we think about them. You know we have thought about most things we come across.
You've heard about it. You've probably seen videos about it on social media. The trad wife is making a comeback. And to think, we were doing it before it was trendy. Just kidding. Seriously, though, being a traditional homemaker has been around since the beginning of time. Only recently, is it making a resurgence as a life goal for women. There is great fulfillment in staying home and raising a family. Women are starting to see that.
We discussed a few of our pros and cons to the trad wife lifestyle. Obviously we are a bit biased on the pro side of the aisle. We truly believe having a parent at home full time is good for the family. There are certainly sacrifices made to make it a reality but they are so worth it for the health of the family.

We've all heard them. We've all done some or all of them.Over indulgence, inconsistent discipline, helicopter parenting..and the list goes on and on. It is easy to fall into the trap of some these common parenting fails. Our kids are so cute. Maybe just one more toy will be fine. And one more, and one more. Before you know it you have a house full of toys and a spoiled child. Recognizing these common parenting fails early can save a lot of problems down the road. Our kids will be better for our restraint.
Today we discussed a few of our own failings in these areas and what we did about it to get back on track. Too often you don't see it until we are in the thick of it and see our kids demanding more and more. Oops. Parenting fail. I know I've been there quite a number of times as my big kids have grown up. It is hard to see until you're there.

Today's Interview
Have you ever wondered what mysteries lurk in the plumbing behind your walls? For most people, as long as everything is moving along as it should, we give it almost no thought. It is only when a pipe springs a leak or the hot water heater breaks that we think about calling in the professionals to have a look.
Today was such a treat! We got to have our questions answered by a professional. Jeff was great fun to interview. He is so funny and makes it interesting to talk about something that can be kind of gross. He also gave us some great tips to keep our systems running smoothly for years to come.
Thanks to Jeff for joining us today!! We truly appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us and our listeners.

Today, we discussed a topic we have struggled with as parents. There are times it is so hard fostering independence in your kids. It is just easier to keep doing the tasks I have always done and not teach my kids to do them for themselves. Then I see other people's kids crushing it and realize my kid could have been doing it all along. Oops!
So today we addressed how we handle helping our kids to learn to be more independent. Sometimes it is as easy as walking along side them to help them figure it out or stepping back and letting them struggle a little. The hard part is figuring out which path to take. We hope our talk will help you figure it out. We certainly aren't experts. We're on this road, too, figuring it out as we go.
Have you heard us talk about our last baby and how we knew. Listen to that HERE
