Guest Kami Kenna is a brand owner, educator, and most recently a masters student in the Steinhardt School of Education, Culture, and Human Development at NYU.
She moved to Peru after winning a competition that gave her free travel, ended up falling in love with the culture and the spirits, and ended up staying for a while. This led her down a path of becoming a brand owner in an artisanal pisco company - driven by quality, tradition, and a passion for bringing craft Pisco to the global market and establishing the category for Peruvian Pisco.
In Mexico, she worked for one of the highest-rated Tequila, Mezcal, and Raicilla tour agencies, Experience Agave, and is now the senior tour coordinator, leading tours through the Tequila Valley and Highlands, into Oaxaca and western Jalisco.
Additionally, she has done consultation and education at a number of bars, restaurants, and breweries from the Peruvian Andes to Mexico's Tequila Valley.
In July of 2019, Kammi moved from Mexico to New York City to attend NYU and pursue a master's in the Food Studies program at their Steinhardt School of Education, Culture, and Human Development.
In her free time, she runs a blog about Latin American spirits called Drink A Seat, with the aim of empowering producers by highlighting the spirits, ferments, and other drinkables produced throughout the region.
