The Living Landscape of Queer Identity
This episode is a personal reflection of me thinking out loud and making sense of my own inner and outer experience of queer identity.
I share honestly about what it’s been like to navigate queerness as a femme-presenting woman who carries both masculine and feminine qualities within me. I talk about polarity, desire, embodiment, and how queer identity often asks us to consciously orient ourselves when there isn’t a default script to follow. In many ways, this conversation feels like coming out all over again…not just about who I’m attracted to, but about how my life force energy moves, how I desire, and how I show up in relationship.
I explore labels like butch, femme & masc not as rigid categories, but as containers. Ways people locate themselves within women-loving-women dynamics so there’s clarity, orientation, and resonance rather than confusion. I reflect on how masculine and feminine energies still exist between women, and how those currents can be deeply nuanced, embodied, and relational.
I also speak to my own process of deconditioning: unpacking internalised shame, patriarchal ideas about femininity and caretaking, and the ways I learned to soften or hide the more masculine currents in my desire. I name what it’s like to carry a strong, directive, initiating energy while presenting as feminine and how liberating it’s been to finally tell the truth about that.
This episode touches on:
- What queerness feels like from the inside, not just how it looks on the outside
- Femme presentation and embodied masculinity
- Polarity, attraction, and desire between women
- Labels as mirrors rather than boxes
- Self-acceptance, liberation, and the ongoing process of coming out
- Letting go of scripts that no longer fit
This isn’t a teaching episode or a definitive statement. It’s a self-reflective recording of me tracking my own landscape in real time and trusting that resonance matters more than having it all figured out.
If you’re queer, questioning, or finding yourself coming out again as you grow and change, I hope this conversation offers a sense of recognition, permission, and maybe even a little relief.
Thanks for being here with me in the exploration. 💖🦋
