A little mystery, a bit of suspense and a lotta love!

Camille Gordon and Mathias Carter are engaged and planning for their October wedding but need to resolve the open mystery surrounding his ancestor, Malcolm Carter. Jilly Miller is pregnant with her second child by Justin, a boy this time, but she's restless, unsettled and adrift without her sixth sense or "Notions" that portend danger. When Justin's trouble-making ex-wife shows up again and a mysterious stranger fixates on Jilly, things get a little crazy in Landon, Minnesota.
The story is presented using two points of view, Jilly's and Camille's, in alternating chapters. Jilly's story had a chilling element of suspense as the bold behavior of a stranger is just unnerving. Her reactions were on target but her failure to tell anyone what was going on was maddening, fitting in perfectly, however, with her mistrust of her normally dead on instincts. The suspense was killing me! And, the ex-wife showing up just made this a delicious brew.
Camille's story strongly intersects with the past, connecting it with the Dove Trilogy. It just feels like a stroke of brilliance to link these two series, joining the historical with the contemporary pretty seamlessly. Camille's relationship with Mathias continues to build as they plan their future. You just can't help but root for these two. Their pursuit of Malcolm's story was fascinating, leading them to Montana and some of the answers.
I enjoyed this story and loved the added intrigue and tension. Even though each story in the series reaches a conclusion, the continuing story arc about their ancestors is oh, so compelling. I don't know which I want more...the next book in this series or in the Dove Trilogy.
