This is episode 1 of The Wild Golf Podcast with Luke Willett and Michael McDonald. Our podcasting journey had to start with Luke Willett, The Iron Golfer. Luke exemplifies everything about wild golf and adventure golf. He is one of the many pioneers who is pushing the boundaries of what is possible with a set of golf clubs. Luke is many things. He is a PGA professional, a climbing golfer, speed golfer, ultra distance golfer, triathlon golfer and host of golf adventure retreats. But first and foremost, he is a father of three daughters and a husband. Luke has (just to highlight a few adventures):
- climbed the three highest peaks in the U.K. with his clubs, playing a round of golf at the base of each peak, in under 24 hours
- run 57 miles along The Thames with his clubs, playing golf along the way at various courses, in under 24 hours
- played all 14 Open rota golf courses, cycling over 800 miles between them, in 10 days
- played three well known courses in Surrey, running between them, in just over two hours
