The first real cold snap, deer in the freezer, and a visitor. We live pretty far off the highway, so we don't get a lot of visitors. But this past week a friend of mine ventured out from the city of Rogers for a day in the wilderness. We hiked around a little bit and I did an impromptu interview with her (it's on a separate short video at YouTube).

A few exciting things to report on in this episode - my studio floor is finished now. I rode an e-bike for the first time, and managed to find a way to collect a spider web strand :D The YouTube version will be up at YouTube.com/@wildozark soon if you want to see images to go with the dialogue.

In this episode, I'm sharing the sights and sounds of a small area outside of my studio where I'm currently taking a break. My week got away from me and I didn't have a more organized recording, so decided to ad lib instead.

This episode might sound like it’s all about my sweet potato patch. But it’s really about using local natural resources where possible, experimenting to find solutions, and working with nature where possible to make the changes you need made. It doesn’t matter if it’s a garden, though I do have a lot more opportunities to try things out in my garden than any other situation.

I'm so ready for crisp mornings and fall colors! At least we're another week closer. Here's how the week went last week - light on a tree brought me to full stop, and we saw a chipmunk.

While mornings and evenings are pretty routine, everything in between are not. Most of the time, I'm not really sure what I'll get done each day. Except on Wednesdays. That day is floor day for me at the office, so it's also errand day. Tune in to see how my past week was and what sorts of things I do around here with my time.

It's only 12 miles to the post office, so WHY does it take me an hour? Well, first of all, I drive really slow on dirt roads to spare the car suspension. But also, there's just so much to see. And if I see something interesting, I like to stop and take pics or get a closer look! So this episode is about the sorts of things that stop me in my tracks and make me get out of the car.
