DC artist, ParadiseVibing is a self taught painter specializing in portraits of iconic figures throughout modern history. Originally an inventory auditor at the House of Representatives, ParadiseVibing resigned at the age of 25 and pursued a career in art. 2 years later he’s still just beginning on his journey, but the future looks brighter by the day. 

The Aurora team is composed of a figure skater, synchronized ice skater, and a competitive dancer with over 60 years of performing experience combined. Imani Rickerby, Jasmine Snead, and Sydney Parker attended the University of Maryland, College Park, and are sisters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Jasmine, a figure skater of over 20 years, used to dye her tights in a bathtub before every competition, and the process was time-consuming, messy, experimental, and expensive. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Imani, a lifetime synchronized ice skater, grew up skating in tights that were too pale for her complexion. While they had different experiences, they were unified in feeling marginalized, unheard, and unseen in the sport they loved.

While coaching a team of young synchronized ice skaters, Jasmine and Imani noticed that many of their students, particularly those of color, were reliving their experiences of isolation. Due to the lack of diverse skating gear, their students were lacking confidence, loneliness, and identity issues. Many times, athletes of color draw away from the sport - not because of a lack of talent - but due to the lack of community. Inspired by their students, the duo both quickly realized that there was an unmet need and shared their stories with Sydney, their best friend and lifetime competitive dancer.


Sydney had a similar experience while dancing, with the added pressure of being a dark-skinned woman in apredominately white sport. The hair products, makeup, and especially the apparel never fit her appearance. Sydney’s feelings of isolation rose so high she avoided even looking in the mirror. It was only after finding her community on her collegiate team of predominantly black women that Sydney started to have confidence in not only her skills, but also her appearance. She understood then what it meant to have a support channel to turn to in times of need. Together the three decided to be the catalysts to end the destructive cycle of monoculturalism within performance sports and instead build a community of empowerment.

Dexter Fields, Master Barber of 28 years and Owner of Millennium Salon, a Barber Salon, Located in downtown Silver Spring Maryland. Dexter the Groomer is a industry educator who teaches Salon Ownership and Advance Barbering Series at
Trade Shows, Barber Schools and private one on one class. Dexter the Groomer is also hold certificated in Cranial Prosthesis Systems. Continuing education is very important to Dexter The Groomer, learning advance techniques that will add in the the growth of his business is what separates Dexter as not just a barber but a Groomer, thus addressing the total grooming care of his clients.
To have a skill set is important, but to lend his talents to the community in which he served is what truly adds value to his life. It is his belief that you may be fortune to have… but the truly blessed are those who give. “We are inspired so we can also be an inspiration to others”. Dexter The Groomer continuously lends his support to charitable organizations, civil groups, community initiatives, and most importantly,
youth organizations. To give back is the cornerstone of the success of Dexter The Groomer Dexter the Groomer and Millennium Salon has adopted a local transitional housing facility as one of the ways to give back to the community. Providing free haircuts to these men and women, who are moving from being homeless to attaining permanent housing on a monthly bases is a clear calling for Dexter the
Groomer and Millennium Salon.

Kareem Queeman, better known as Mr. Bake, is a professional pastry chef and cake decorator. He is the owner and operator of Mr. Bake Sweets, a small dessert studio located in Largo, MD right outside Washington Dc. Mr. Bake has been baking for 20+ years. In the years that Mr. Bake Sweets has operated he's done a few television appearances on Food Network, Fox, ABC, Discovery Family and Netflixs. He's also a 2020 Business of Pride honoree by the Washington Business Journal. 2021 Pastry chef of the year, awarded from The National Black Chef's Association. As an openly black gay chef, Mr. Bake prides himself on diversity, inclusivity, community outreach and always making the world a better place one cake at a time

A board certified physician with specialist training in Dermatology, Dr. Sandy is the first graduate of the Clinical Dermatology Fellowship at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. This fellowship is one of two in the nation. Trained at Drexel University, Johns Hopkins and UMDNJ Dr. Sandy’s philosophy, as a physician is to treat skin from the inside out, a “Holistic Approach to Skincare”.

As a professor, she precepted and trained medical students and residents. She has lectured and tutored students on Dermatological Diseases and Procedures. She has also been active in curriculum development at both the medical graduate and post-graduate level.

Dr. Sandy is a member of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and American Medical Association. In addition her fellowship and post graduate awards. She was also honored as a Women’s Health Scholar, PA Academy of Family Physician Scholarship Scholar and American Academy of Dermatology Medical Student Summer Scholar and All- American Scholar.

Her numerous publications include, “Dermatological Emergencies" American Family Physician Journal and her review on "Review on Dermatology for Skin of Color by Drs. Paul Kelly and Susan Taylor.

Dr. Sandy is licensed to practice in NJ, NY and MD and is currently practicing in New York and Maryland.
