In this second episode of Wild Resonance, host Stephen Griesgraber talks with musician, writer, philosopher, and educator David Rothenberg about why animals vocalize, what constitutes music, and where to hear the wild squeaks of the Death's Head Hawk Moth. 

Rothenberg has released ten full albums under his own name and has performed on countless others. He is known for his inter-species performances in which he joins with the voices of non-human animals. He has written or co-authored an equally impressive number of books including "Whale Music: Thousand Mile Songs in a Sea of Sound."

They also dive into Mason's work as a music producer and installation artist, before wrapping up with a playful round of “What in the World?”—a game where Stephen tries to identify mystery animal vocalizations curated by Mason.
