Some of the most significant seasons of our lives don’t look spiritual at all.

They look like disruption.

Loss.

Detours we didn’t plan.

But when we look at the life of Moses, we begin to see something different. The places that felt unexpected to him were not accidental to God.

A river meant for death became the place of preservation.

A palace became the place of formation.

A wilderness became the place of preparation.

Naked and Afraid — Genesis 3

Genesis 3 is often called “the fall,” but it is more than a story about disobedience.

It is the first moment humanity experienced fear.

The first time shame entered the human heart.

The first time someone hid from the voice of God.

Sin did not begin with fruit.

It began with unbelief.

Doubt fractured trust.

Pride sought autonomy.

Selfishness chose self over dependence.

And the result was separation — and for the first time, humanity feared the very God they once walked with in intimacy.

In this episode of Wilder Whispers, we trace the progression from:

Naked and unashamed

to aware and ashamed

to afraid and hiding.

But the story does not end in fear.

Before exile.

Before toil and thorns.

Before the long unfolding consequences of sin — God covered them.

From Eden to Zechariah 3, Scripture reveals the same pattern: exposure, accusation, and mercy.

On a dive in Curaçao, I experienced a kind of darkness that was unsettling — disorienting — the kind that makes you instinctively reach for something steady.

The divemaster’s instruction was simple:

Stay close to the reef.

In this episode, we walk through Scripture and discover that God’s answer to darkness has always been light. From Genesis to Exodus to the Gospel of John, we see the same pattern:

God speaks light.

God preserves light.

God sends Light.

And His name is Jesus.
