What do you do when you know there’s an obstacle ahead—and you have no idea how you’re going to get past it?

What if the way you live could make someone thirsty for Jesus?

A few years ago, while visiting family near the Outer Banks, Shā began noticing the words Salt Life everywhere—on cars, T-shirts, and in store windows. What began as an ordinary observation became a reminder of Jesus’ words: “You are the salt of the earth.”

In this episode of Wilder Whispers, we explore what it means to live as salt in the places God has already put us. Salt preserves. Salt adds flavor. Salt creates thirst. And salt has to make contact to make a difference.

Through Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 5 and the story of Elisha at the waters of Jericho, we’re reminded that our responsibility is to be salt while trusting God with what happens in the water.

What does your life reveal about Jesus?

In this episode of Wilder Whispers, Shā reflects on the changing condition of her backyard pond and a simple truth hidden in its reflection. When the water became clouded with algae and debris, the reflection was obscured. When rain disturbed the surface, the reflection became distorted. But when the water was clear and still, the trees became visible again.

Our lives were meant to reflect Jesus—but what happens when something within us affects that reflection? Some things need cleansing. Other things need stilling. Through the work of the Holy Spirit and the restoring care of the Shepherd, God knows exactly what the water needs.

Have you ever wondered if anyone is really thinking about you—not just remembering your name, but carrying you in their thoughts?

Years ago, Shā spent her lunch break standing behind a barricade in downtown Chicago watching her favorite actor, Mel Gibson, film a scene from Conspiracy Theory. She hoped for the chance to meet him, but her lunch break ended before that ever happened.

Years later, the Holy Spirit brought that ordinary moment back to mind with a quiet whisper:

“You’ve always been on My mind.”

What if God is doing His deepest work during the very season when it feels like nothing is happening?

Episode Summary

Waiting can feel like empty space between our prayers and God’s answers. But what if it isn’t empty at all?

After planting a new Bloomerang lilac tree, a simple instruction from the nursery became an unexpected lesson from the Holy Spirit. Sometimes a tree isn’t watered immediately so its roots will grow deeper in search of life. In that ordinary moment came a quiet whisper:

“It is in the waiting that your roots grow deep.”

Together we’ll discover how Scripture reveals that waiting is never wasted. Through Isaiah 40, Jeremiah 17, James 1, and the hope of the cross, we’ll see that God often does His deepest work beneath the surface—preparing us for what He has planned long before we can see the fruit.
