The world offers us daily opportunities to find our identity in anything else other than Christ. And far more often than not, we look for that identity in what we can see, feel, and touch right in front of us rather than the Author and Perfecter of our faith. In Colossians 3, Paul calls our attention back to our identity in Christ alone and lays out the logical response of someone who is raised with Christ.
