I can’t express enough how much of a delight it was to speak to my guest Parveen Kaur on this edition of The Spotlight. Together, Parveen and I talk about the new NBC show Manifest that she is on, taking on the role of the character and her thought process behind it, and deeper conversation into things like avoiding being typecast in Hollywood, making an impact in the business and much much more. Talking to Parveen and sharing stories about our starts makes this a memorable one for me. Be sure to check out Manifest on NBC every Monday night at 10/9 C and follow the show on Twitter @NBCManifest
When it comes to Improv comedy, Brad Sherwood is one of the best in the business and I am pleased to welcome him back into The Spotlight for the THIRD time! Together, Brad and I dive further into his time working on Whose Line is it Anyway?, talk about his current Scared Scriptless tour with Colin Mochrie, and even share stories of our love for improv and the root of where it began. Three times on the program, this one is definitely my favorite and not to be missed. Be sure to check out Brad on social media @TheBradSherwood on Instagram and Twitter and of course check out the site for the show ColinandBradShow.com for tour dates and ticket availability!
With me this time in The Spotlight, it was a pleasure to have actor Tyler Labine join me to talk some of his past projects as well as his current show “New Amsterdam” on NBC. We dive into some works like Deadbeat and Tucker & Dale vs Evil as well as if either project still has a future of any kind. Then we dive right into New Amsterdam, what drew him to the role and what the role and show mean to him. Be sure to check out New Amsterdam Tuesdays 10/9c on NBC, follow New Amsterdam on Twitter @NBCNewAmsterdam and follow Tyler on social media at @TyLabine on Twitter and @TLabine on Instagram!
This time in The Spotlight, Ben is joined by artist and musician Pete Mitchell of the band No More Kings. Together they talk about Pete’s new solo album “Musings on Mars”, what the songs mean to Pete as well as what goes into the song selection on the album. Plus, with both Ben and Pete being huge pop culture junkies, you’ll get to hear the two of them geek out quite a few times on some 80’s pop culture. Be sure to check out Pete’s website www.daspetey.com, follow him on Facebook facebook.com/PeteMitchellMusic, and be sure to check out “Musings on Mars” on Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp, Google Play and Amazon Music
Ben is joined by comedian David Koechner to talk about his current tour, getting his start in sketch and improv comedy, living in LA and some of his past projects. David also talks about Big Slick Celebrity Weekend, his annual charity event in Kansas City. Follow David on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube by going to his website www.davidkoechner.com.
