It was supposed to be easy. Hijack the yacht of some playboy the world wouldn't miss and make out like bandits. But things don't exactly go to plan.

✍️ Andrew Hodges, an English writer living in the United States, shares his story, where in the southern United States is a house where a little old lady lives, a little old lady who was old when Dad was a boy. A little old lady whose garden isn't just right, where the little old lady... isn't just right. And I have the poor luck to live next door.

✍️ Today's Tale is by Arisha Wassim, a psychology graduate and university instructor from Islamabad. Her academic fascination with the human mind naturally bleeds into her writing, where she explores themes like mental illness, guilt, and isolation. Her work is heavily inspired by the classic atmospheric dread of Poe and Shelley, seeking to find the horror not in monsters, but in the quiet unraveling of the self.
Today's tale explores the idea that hauntings are not exclusive to objects and buildings, but our minds can also be playgrounds for the supernatural.

Author Zea Mindwerl shares this story she wrote for a prompt at Blog.Reedsy.com. It's a dark tale about the unknown things out in the dark of night. And hammers home the idea that there's no place like the safety of home in a tale she calls FEAR.
The story was originally posted in 2023 but has since gone missing from my podcast... I have no idea why. But in the time that's past from when I originally posted this and now I've learned so much about audio recording and mastering. So I've applied that to the original performance and updated the effects with new ones from my subscription with Epidemic Sounds.
Imagine being followed around by death itself... for seemingly no reason at all. Jim Cort dives into this idea in this original story.
A nostalgic look back at horror alumni Nelson Bond. Who's aged old writing paved the way for todays contemporary authors. His tale The Bookshop, explores the secrets often found in seemingly innocuous places.
