Hey everyone, and welcome back to Will It Translate! I'm your host. Besides the beautiful landscapes and friendly locals, one of Taiwan's most amazing features is the incredible variety of fresh fruit available all year round!
Today, we're taking you on a tropical fruit adventure. We'll explore five delicious fruits: the sweet and juicy Mango, the tangy Pineapple, the crisp and refreshing Wax Apple, the soft and unique Sugar Apple, and of course, the sweet Pomelo.
Not only will we teach you how to say each fruit's name in Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English, we'll also share a fun local "urban legend." In Taiwan, people who work in hospitals or schools often avoid eating mangoes and pineapples, because rumor has it, these fruits can bring "a lot of work"!
