All the Words of This Life The central truth of this message comes from Acts 5:20: "Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life." Life in Christ's kingdom is not a vague spirituality or merely a set of religious ideas. This life has words. God has spoken about life, love, wisdom, grace, righteousness, truth, salvation, and how His people are to walk. Therefore, believers are called to build their lives upon what God has revealed rather than upon feelings, cultural opinions, or human definitions. The disciples were always going because Jesus was always working and leading them somewhere. God's mission ordinarily involves a people, a place, a purpose,and a promise. Paul began in Damascus because that was where he was, and the apostles were sent to the temple because that was where the people were. In the same way, believers should recognize the people God has already placed around them and faithfully speak the words of life there. When the Gospel Becomes "Our Gospel" In 1 Thessalonians 1, Paul calls it "our gospel." Not because he invented it, but because the gospel had become inseparable from his life. The Thessalonian believers received the same gospel until it became theirs too. Their faith became known everywhere because they had: • turned to God from idols, • begun serving the living and true God, • and were waiting for His Son from heaven. That is what the gospel does. It changes allegiance. Jesus becomes our King, and our life begins showing that we belong to another kingdom. Daniel 4: 34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: 35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

Whatever God does is essential and right. And as he is declared to impute righteousness to the blessed, it must be essential and right; nor can a man be safe without it. Paul knew this right well, and therefore he "suffered the loss of all things, and counted them but dung, that he might win Christ, and be found in him, not having his own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith," Phi 3.8-9. Namely, it is Christ's righteousness imputed to us, which is wrought by God the Son, given by God the Father, revealed by God the Spirit, and received by faith as the soul's justifying dress.

Who Are We? — More Than Conquerors The central truth of this message is that God redeems us, reveals Himself to us, keeps us connected to Christ, and then sends us as witnesses of what we have come to know and believe. From Isaiah 43 through Acts 22, John 14–16, and Romans 8, the same pattern appears: chosen by grace, taught by truth, sustained by His presence, and sent to testify of Him. Isaiah 43 begins with the wonder of redemption: "I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine." God does not promise His people that they will never face waters, rivers, or fires. He promises something greater: "I will be with you." Our security is not found in easier circumstances but in belonging to the Lord. Redemption also reminds us that judgment cannot simply disappear. Divinely and nationally, He showed mercy to Israel and gave others nations to His wrath in their place. National mercy only leads to a Redeemer who was given for those who would be personally redeemed. While mercy fell upon a people wrath fell upon another people. Ultimately, the judgment our personal sins deserved fell upon the sufficient Substitute, the Lord Jesus Christ. We did not deserve His payment, but He took our place. From there comes responsibility. God says in Isaiah 43:10, "You are My witnesses… that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He." Acts 22 gives the same pattern in Paul's life: God chose him to know His will, see the Just One, hear His voice, and become His witness. God reveals Himself so that we may know Him; knowing Him leads to believing Him; believing Him produces a life that witnesses of Him John 17. Jesus also prepares His people by telling them

God created emotions as gifts, but emotions were never intended to function as our authority.
