Many congregations have been dialoguing in the wake of racial violence in the United States this past year about what it looks like for us to work toward racial justice and equity. Mission and advocacy work has long been a part of the DNA of Williamsburg Baptist Church, but we still struggle like so many churches to figure out how best to serve and work toward a more racially just world. THE GREAT SPIRITUAL MIGRATION (PODCAST RECAP)

During the late fall and early January, we  had a wonderful Zoom-based series on Sunday mornings based on Brian McLaren's book, The Great Spiritual Migration. In it, McLaren urges churches and Christians to shift (or "migrate") from our old, outdated understanding of Christianity as a system of beliefs to a new way of life based on love, which in turn leads to more redemptive communities and practices.
