Over the course of almost ninety episodes, several always stick out in terms of the quality of interviews; this is one of those episodes. Senior Lady Bullets’ Volleyball and Basketball player Laney Flynn has a great perspective on being a teammate and doing what is the best for a team and playing a role; most people twice her age don’t have this same perspective, and it is refreshing to hear a high school senior “get it” in terms doing it what it takes for the betterment of the team. This is a perfect example of why we can say it’s better to be a Bullet! I know you will enjoy this episode as much as I did recording it.

I was hoping to get this episode up earlier this week, but the flu had another thing in mind. Needless to say, the episode is up and it is truly a special one; we are joined by Angie Hartman, formerly Angie Sapp. Angie is a true legend when it comes to Lady Bullets Basketball and a big driving force behind why we have a girls’ basketball program at Williamsville today. The program has come a long way since 1989, but it wouldn’t be here without this story.

We are back after a long winter’s nap! This episode is so exciting, not only since it is the first of 2017, but also because WHS is hosting the 2017 Sangamon County Girls’ Basketball Tournament this week. We are joined this week by the Father of the girls’ county tournament, Don Hartlaub. Don takes us back twenty-seven years to the origins of the tournament. Not only does Don talk to us about how the tournament got started in Sangamon County, but how the game of girls’ basketball as changed as well. This is a very special episode for any high school basketball fan in Sangamon County.

It’s been a few weeks since we have been, but that is what happens when you have baby number five join the family. We are back in full force this week as we take a look back at the first part of the basketball season and a look ahead at the upcoming holiday tournaments. Head boys’ basketball coach Nick Beard and senior guard Jake Pennell join us for in-depth interviews before the big non-conference game against St. Teresa tonight. This will get you refocused for the basketball season that is in full swing.

It’s not too often that a long standing record within a program gets broken, but there is a good possibility that we will be able to witness this during the second round of the playoffs on Saturday. In preparation for this historic moment, we sit down with current all-time leading rusher Brian Lyttaker, and take look back at his historic career and what Bullet Football has meant to him. We then sit down with senior running back, and current second all-time leader rusher, Jace Franklin for an in-depth talk about his career and how being a Bullet has helped to mold him into who he is today. These two interviews are for not only high school football fans, but for anyone who enjoys sports.

It is hard to believe that Fall postseason is fully upon us with the first round of the IHSA Football Playoffs taking place this weekend. Adam and Jon touch a little bit on this, but the main focus of this week’s episode is the cross country program at WHS. Head Coach Tyler Casson joins us for a look at this season as well as how he has been running down his dream with P.A.C.E Clothing and spreading good vibes along the way. Junior Grace Gudwien joins us in our student segment and tells her running story and how she has even motivated her parents to pound some pavement as well. We also touch a little on the Cubs making the World Series for the first time in seventy-one years and what it looks like as a White Sox and Cardinals fan.

The Williamsville Bullet Soccer team has a chance to capture their fifth straight regional on Saturday as they take on Blue Ridge. Take a listen to how head coach Mitch Davidson has seen the program grow from when he was a player to now has a head coach and how proud he is to be coaching at his alma mater. We are also joined by senior goalie Joe Roscetti as he shares his journey from the football field to the soccer field and how playing multiple sports has benefited him throughout his career at WHS.

An exciting episode this week as we are joined by former Lady Bullet Volleyball and Softball player, and current libero for the Fighting Illini Brandi Donnelly. Brandi talks about her time at WHS and how it prepared her to succeed at U of I. She also provides some great advice for current high school athletes who have aspirations to be college players. Current head coach Stacey Carlson also joins the podcast this week and talks about her memories of Brandi as well as how the current season is going.

In honor of our late Superintendent Dave Root, we are continuing our commitment to excellence and will bring you more in-depth content that will take you behind the scenes of both Bee Bee and Bullet Athletics that will help increase your appreciation and passion for both our athletes and coaches.

 We start this week with an in-depth interview with head football coach Aaron Kunz and his former assistant, and first year New Berlin Football head coach Trevor Compardo. You will hear in this episode how much passion both men have for the game, and more importantly how they shape and model the athletes they coach so they are successfully once they leave high school. This episode proves the quality of the coaches within the Sangamo Conference and will get you ready for the match-up between the Bullets and Pretzels this Friday night at Paul Jenkins Field.
