Perceiving means being aware of what’s currently occurring. When you perceive something, you have the awareness of what is here right now, without reaching the conclusion that therefore it will be like that forever. What shows up tomorrow may be different. When you perceive what is and you ask a question instead of reaching a conclu-sion, you will have even greater awareness.
Sometimes parents may begin to perceive the truth of their kids, which is great, but at the same time, they want their child to fit into all the norms and expectations of this reality. They’re stuck in a fixed point of view about how that’s supposed to look. They will acknowledge that yes, they see their child’s talents and abilities, and they are sincere in this, and then they’ll ask, “So, how do we get him to be normal? How do we get him to fit in?” Dain:
That would be like Einstein’s mom asking, “How do I get Albert to forget this theory of relativity he is working on and become a little more normal?”
