The Wilson County Office of Emergency Management welcomed local and area state, county, city, and school district employees and elected officials Dec. 3 to its first tabletop exercise held at the new Emergency Operations Center. The multijurisdictional exercise included scenarios and discussions of how to facilitate a safe and effective community evacuation in a flood situation. Members of the Sam Houston State University Institute for Homeland Security brought state-of-the-art Sim Table mapping to assist with visual representations at various flood stages during the exercise.
