Wine fraud is as old as wine itself, says Master of Wine and author Rebecca Gibb, whose new book Vintage Crime: A Short History of Wine Fraud charts key episodes in history, including the glut of fake champagne that led to the Champagne riots in 1911, and the fake Burgundy concoctions of notorious wine fraudster, Rudy Kurniawan.
