Sandar & Hem explores the deep heritage of the Santa Cruz mountains through the lens of its most historically important vineyards and well appointed contemporary sites. With scholarship and exacting detail, the winery develops evocative expressions of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Grenache, and various Bordeaux varieties.

Founders Robert and Recha Bergstrom come to wine from doctoral-level academic backgrounds in the biomedical sciences. Inspired by their love of wine, and over 100 years of Santa Cruz winemaking history, they look to the future with a clear ethos of sustainability and exploration to make superlative expressions of their vineyards, while building community in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
