Not just spooky labels or names but wines with sordid backstories, folklore, legends and strange uses. We had the pleasure of talking to Desiree Noisette (aka Boss Babe). She is the owner of Mermosa Winery and Boutique on Beach Drive in downtown St. Petersburg, FL. She has a very intriguing story on how she created not only a business but WINE when she couldn't find what she was looking for in the marketplace.  She currently has 2 sparkling wines and a delicious rosé that has the most spectacular story behind it (not to mention 3 reds coming out this fall).  We had such a great time recording this and cover topics from how challenging it is to find swimwear that fits to turning an amazing event in your family history into a beautiful, sentimental wine.  You can check out Mermosa at 400 Beach Dr NE #161 in St. Pete. 

Part two of our July lateral tasting - the reds! We blind taste four red wines, and it's way harder than we thought it'd be!

This week we go back to some of our previously studied grapes and put them up against each other in a lateral tasting. A lateral tasting is an exercise where you put like grapes together to see if you could identify them blindly. I know it sounds like we are having too much fun, but this is really a study exercise and we pretty much got schooled. So, we are putting it up to you, our listeners, to try your hand at guessing the grapes. We're on a marathon tasting of all the red Italian varietals that could show up on a blind tasting exam. We go through them quite thoroughly to try and find out what markers make them that type of grape and not something else. The wines and producers we are tasting will be listed on our socials. We have gone from Australia to Italy and sharing with you our tasting experience with our first 2 whites from Northern Italy.
