Do you ever feel like you're on a timeline to get married by a certain age, have children by a certain age, or move out by a certain age? We have both felt those society pressures at times & even more so running a business - we have almost sometimes felt embarrassed talking about Babbico, when outsiders tell us 'you're flying' and ask us 'how's it going' as their expectation is that in the space of 2 years we should be millionaire's - something that most business owners will know, is not realistic.

That pressure of feeling like you should be doing better than what you are can be really detrimental to progress and can have you procrastinating about why things aren't moving quick enough. In this episode, we cover this topic in further detail, in the hope of letting others know how important it is to not to compare your journey to others; it really is about staying in your own lane and working towards the goals you've set, as the way you measure success will really be completely individual to you.

Pitching for investment has to be one of the biggest hurdles a business owner will ever face - trust us we've done it, 100's of times! It's not the most enjoyable experience in the world but sometimes it is necessary for company growth. In this podcast we drill deeper into our experience raising money, starting with all the basics - company loans, overdrafts, invoice factoring & then finally equity investment. This includes all the no's we've faced along the way (there have been far too many to count)!

We're also excited to let you know that we have our first podcast guest lined up for November, so less of us two rambling on! This guest is an ex dragon from Dragons Den, she's also been an amazing mentor to us for the past 2 years and is just one extremely kind lady! Stay tuned....

Mental health is something we often hear entrepreneurs who have ‘made it’ talk about in their podcasts & interviews, but we felt not many of them spoke about it whilst on the actual journey, which is why we wanted to share our experience on the subject.

From really down days, to feeling like we literally couldn’t go on, our mental health has been strongly impacted whilst running Babbico. We are lucky enough to have each other and a great support network around us that we can call upon when we feel like we’re hitting rock bottom, but we are aware so many others do not have this type of support.

We want anyone running a business to know you are not alone, when you feel like those dark days are becoming more frequent and those happy moments are far and few between, please know we’ve been there! The struggle is real & being aware of your emotions is the key to getting through the other side. As the saying goes ‘if it was easy, everyone would do it’ - the morale of the story is that business is seriously not easy!

In Episode 4 we are giving you all an insight into our crazy week of deliveries; including our biggest delivery so far which we were totally unprepared for - oh the joys! We also touch upon how very easy it is to let feelings of fear creep in when running a business, and when the heat is on how this can have a huge effect on your confidence as a business owner - all very normal feelings but important not to let fear de-rail you from running an amazing business.

Episode 3 - we’ve made it this far! This week we’re chatting about stepping out of your comfort zone as a business owner; doing things that literally make you cringe & basically selling your soul, because that is genuinely how much you want your business to succeed! We also touch upon the support network around you, and how sometimes the people closest to you aren’t always the one’s rooting for you. On top of that we’ve got the usual - mum guilt and tears. We hope you love Episode 3 - this is certainly our favourite so far!

There are bound to be ups and downs along the way, but ultimately, your business partner (if you pick the right one!) will have your back through the hard times and will be your back bone when you need it the most.

Teaming up with someone in business is not easy, and for us, making sure we are on the same page in terms of company ethos, brand values and our own values is super important to driving Babbico forward.
