Not everyone has a grandfather like Brother Jerry. His family and grandchildren are overwhelmed with gratitude that he was theirs. Today we chat with Madison Everage, one of the two granddaughters of Dr. Savelle. She works for JSMI, carrying on the Legacy of her Papa and supporting the continued work of her Mimi, Mrs. Carolyn. Madison speaks of the lessons and love she received from him, and the vision she carries walking forward. This is a refreshing and sweet conversation. Preston Savelle shares today about the time he spent with his grandpa. Dr. Savelle to many of us, to Preston, Jerry Savelle was the best man ever. He taught him about a life of faith and trusting the leading of the Lord. He taught him about ministry- and math and created many priceless memories. Dr. Savelle's transition propelled a transition for Preston and his family. Moving back to Texas for Preston and his family has been a journey of trusting God. Church is Family. Or should we say the church becomes family when people get planted? Joe and Monica Capuchino have been faithful members of Heritage for years. They raised their children here, and they love serving in the church. They also know what it means to stay even when things get sticky. Like all organizations, leadership changes over time. Amid those changes, this couple has remained faithful. The body of believers here has often surrounded their family in times of great pressure. Like a two-way street, like giving and receiving, like seedtime and harvest. This is the design of the local church, and the Capuchinos have walked it out. The biggest takeaway from their story is that the faithful will flourish when planted in the House of the Lord.
