The U.S. has never had money problems, but it has always had a priorities problem. We always seem to have money for wars, bailouts, and corporate subsidies. But, when the people need assistance we are told to wait, to be patient, that our turn is coming. That we just need to work harder. Working harder isn't enough when your starting line is miles behind. Washington needs to start looking like the people it's supposed to represent.

The Green Agenda's Guardians and Safe Haven Act is desperately needed and long overdue. Finally, after a ton of soul-searching, discussions with my family, and nudges from so many who have encouraged me to do so, I am happy to announce my campaign for United States Senate. As someone who has clawed their way out of darkness and poverty, I believe it’s time the working class had true representation in Washington, not another millionaire or billionaire. Throughout my entire life, I have watched the haves step on, use, and manipulate the have-nots, and it is truly time for the people who make this country run to take back control and have more say in our destiny. 

Oklahoma deserves a Senator who understands the struggles of everyday people,  not just the wealthy or well-connected. My campaign is about community, accountability, and people over politics.

This won’t be an easy road. But I’ve never had an easy road. And that’s why I believe I’m prepared to walk it.

 In the last episode I talked about my experience as a homeless person. In this episode I wanted to discuss a recent experience I had on social media regarding homeless people. My hope is that through my experience we can all better understand some of the struggles they endure and maybe that will help others to have more compassion and understanding.

 Homelessness is tough. And so often we, as people, look into that world but only from a distance. We don't consider the difficulty, and hardships that might pile on top of a homeless person. I had gone through the foster system and usually, through no fault of my own, I found myself back on the streets numerous times.

I hope to be able to shed some light on the thought process that I had as a homeless person through my experience and, in turn, help viewers understand how difficult it can be.

We never really understand how our presence affects other people. During one of the darkest moments of my life I spent an evening talking to a mouse and sharing some cheetos. I had just lost a friend to suicide. I was in the middle of a divorce and the emotional toll that life was taking on me was settling in. That was until this mouse decided to keep me company, in exchange for cheetos. That night I contemplated a lot of things during my conversations with that mouse. In this episode, I share some of those thoughts and how this mouse saved my life.

 In this episode I talk about some of my experiences with negative situations and how they impacted me. I want to encourage you to always strive to be better than you were. 

Since I was very young, no matter my surroundings, I have always felt out of place and inferior to the people around me. I always drag the anvil of feeling I don't belong or am not good enough to share the company of others in most situations. This may be why I have been compelled to open so many businesses over the years, to create a world of my own where I feel comfortable and knowledgeable. The one quality most champions have is the belief that they will one day be champions. I have never known that feeling, but the one thing I built my entire existence on and still motivates me today is this. I absolutely refuse to accept that I am not good enough, and no matter how you make me feel by my being in your presence, I will show up anyway. Even knowing I would feel awkward and out of place, I would still show up. To me, facing the fear of looking dumb or inadequate is a way lesser disservice to myself than the tragedy of allowing those feelings to control my life and possible success. I promised myself when I was young that I would not accept the cards dealt to me, and that determination carries me through each day. Remember, the only person you have to be better than is the person you were yesterday. If you do that, I promise your life will change. Never accept that you have done all you can; there is always more work to be done and more to accomplish. Proving others wrong feels tremendous, but nothing compares to proving yourself wrong, especially in the face of doubt.
