Story Transcript:

Sl: Sredi Ljubljane, v tihi zimski dan, se je razprostiral Tivoli park.
En: In the middle of Ljubljana, on a quiet winter's day, Tivoli Park stretched out.

Sl: Sneg je pokril tla, veje dreves so bile gole, le nekaj sledov krajših sprehodov je bilo videti na belini.
En: Snow covered the ground, the branches of the trees were bare, and only a few traces of shorter walks could be seen on the whiteness.

Sl: Zrak je bil svež in hladen.
En: The air was fresh and cold.

Sl: Matej je hodil počasi, koraki so se utapljali v snegu.
En: Matej walked slowly, his steps sinking into the snow.

Sl: Tivoli park je bil njegov kraj miru.
En: Tivoli Park was his place of peace.

Sl: Sprehajal se je med drevesi, opazoval naravo in razmišljal.
En: He strolled among the trees, observed nature, and contemplated.

Sl: Vedno se je tukaj umiril.
En: He always found tranquility here.

Sl: Danes ni bil nič drugačen.
En: Today was no different.

Sl: Iskal je tišino.
En: He sought silence.

Sl: A tišina je bila prekinjena.

Sl: Zaslišal je lahkoten in vesel glas.

Sl: Matej je dvignil pogled.
En: Matej looked up.

Sl: Pred njim je stala Jasmina, mlada ženska s toplim nasmehom.
En: In front of him stood Jasmina, a young woman with a warm smile.

Sl: Oči so ji žarele od navdušenja.
En: Her eyes sparkled with excitement.

Sl: Matej je pokimal in pogledal stran.
En: Matej nodded and looked away.

Sl: "Lepo je, ja," je bolj zamrmral zase, upajoč, da bo lahko nadaljeval svoj mirni sprehod.
En: "It is beautiful, yes," he muttered more to himself, hoping he could continue his peaceful walk.

Sl: Vendar Jasmina ni bila od muh.
En: However, Jasmina was not easily discouraged.

En: She always sought opportunities for new conversations, new friends.

Sl: Začela je govoriti o parku, o lepoti zime, o tem, kako se vsako drevo, vsaka steza zdi drugačna v snegu.
En: She began to talk about the park, the beauty of winter, how every tree, every path seemed different in the snow.

Sl: Matej je poskušal biti vljuden, a njegov um je hrepenel po samoti.
En: Matej tried to be polite, but his mind longed for solitude.

Sl: Pisalci in pesniki, kot je bil on, so pogosto v parku našli inspiracijo – tiho, osebno.
En: Writers and poets, like himself, often found inspiration in the park – quietly, personally.

Sl: A Jasmina je vztrajala.
En: But Jasmina persisted.

Sl: Zanjo je bil vsak dan priložnost za novo zgodbo, novo poznanstvo.
En: For her, every day was an opportunity for a new story, a new acquaintance.

Sl: Matej je končno pogledal v njene oči.
En: Matej finally looked into her eyes.

Sl: "Zakaj mi ne pustiš v miru?" je vprašal, bolj ostro, kot je nameraval.
En: "Why won't you leave me alone?" he asked, more sharply than he intended.

Sl: "Potrebujem svoj mir, tukaj... preslišati svet."
En: "I need my peace here... to block out the world."

Sl: Jasmina je bila tišja, razumela ga je.
En: Jasmina grew quieter, she understood him.

Sl: "Včasih se zdi, da smo sami, da moramo biti sami.

Sl: Matej je globoko zadihal.

Sl: Njene besede so mu dale misliti.
En: Her words made him think.

Sl: Opazil je, kako danes sončni žarki prosevajo skozi oblake, kako svetloba spreminja vse, tudi njega.
En: He noticed how the sun's rays broke through the clouds today, how the light changed everything, even him.

Sl: "Oprosti, nisem bil pošten," je rekel.
En: "I'm sorry, I wasn't fair," he said.

Sl: "Mogoče res potrebujem koga, ki bi poslušal... Hvala, Jasmina."
En: "Maybe I really do need someone to listen... Thank you, Jasmina."

Sl: In začel je pripovedovati svojo zgodbo, počasi, previdno.
En: And he began to tell his story, slowly, cautiously.

Sl: Jasmina je poslušala, ni jemala njegovih besed zlahka.
En: Jasmina listened, not taking his words lightly.

Sl: Bila je tu zanj.
En: She was there for him.

Sl: In ko je Matej končal, se je počutil lažji.
En: And when Matej finished, he felt lighter.

Sl: Ko sta nadaljevala po parku, sta govorila o vsem mogočem.
En: As they continued through the park, they talked about all sorts of things.

Sl: Matej je prvič začutil, da ta park, ki ga je tako ljubil, ni bil le njegov.
En: For the first time, Matej felt that this park he loved so much was not just his.

Sl: Bil je vseh, ki so prišli delit trenutke; bil je kraj srečanj in spoznanj.
En: It belonged to everyone who came to share moments; it was a place of meetings and discoveries.

Sl: Sneg je še vedno pokrival zemljo, a znotraj Mateja ni bilo več hladno.
En: The snow still covered the ground, but inside Matej it was no longer cold.

Sl: Namesto tega je občutil toplino.
En: Instead, he felt warmth.

Sl: Toplino prijateljstva.
En: The warmth of friendship.
