Listen Later

Today we’re joined by Sara George and Sally Farrar of Wisconsin Women in Conservation and farm bill biologist Britta Petersen from Pheasants Forever to talk about prairie restoration, land stewardship, and their upcoming Prairie Walk in Pepin County this Saturday, August 14.
Sara George is a staff member of Renewing the Countryside, where she works on Farm to School, Farm to Early Care, and Farmers Market Aggregation program areas. She has been the market manager for the Wabasha Farmers Market for the past six years and is the Wisconsin Women in Conservation regional coordinator for the west central area. Her family owns and operates a small vegetable farm in Pepin, Wisconsin.
Sally Farrar has been involved in conservation for many years, working for the NCRS, Pheasants Forever, and other farmers and private service providers to plant and burn prairies. She owns the property where the upcoming Prairie Walk tour will take place.
Britta Petersen is the Pheasants Forever Farm Bill Biologist for the southwest Wisconsin region. She’s helped lots of landowners, farmers and otherwise, to reach their stewardship goals.
