Wisdom and Philosophy

and think about life and the world deeply, and meaningfully.

Long before there were libraries, before printing presses, before anyone dreamed of a screen, people gathered around fires and market stalls and temple steps to ask the questions that still follow us today. How should we live? What do we owe one another? What makes a life well lived?

The answers they found were never confined to one place. A teacher in ancient China spoke of harmony and virtue. A sage in India sat beneath a tree and questioned the nature of suffering. A philosopher in Athens walked the marketplace, asking questions until certainty gave way to understanding. Poets in Persia, storytellers across Africa, thinkers in the Islamic Golden Age, and voices from the Americas all added to the great conversation of humankind.

On this podcast, we listen to that conversation together. Each episode, we’ll explore a work of wisdom from somewhere in the world, from some moment in history. We’ll hear what it said then, and ask what it might say to us now.

You don’t need a degree in philosophy. You only need curiosity, and a willingness to wonder.

So settle in, take a breath, and let’s begin.
