With Labor Day around the corner, we wanted to take a deep dive into a few things related to the workplace - three episodes with three guys who have some vast experience in the marketplace. 

Episode 1 Getting the Job

Great companies always want to hire great people!

When thinking about a company to work for, the guys recommend you look for a place that will be a great place to learn - a good company that trains people well and equips them to be successful.

Consider - is the company growing or is the company slowing?

What do you want to do? Who has God created you to be and what skills and talents has He equipped you with to be successful?

What do you need to be successful in terms of interviewing for a job?

Dress for success, lean toward “more” professional than “less”

Know about the company, the person interviewing you

Be prepared to ask good questions - I know your biggest competitor is Y, what makes you different from them? Also, ask the interviewer if they’re done asking questions before you start asking questions about the company.

Don’t forget the follow up - and look to be specific.

Don’t be looking at your phone!

Be early for an interview, but not too early!

Don’t lie. Don’t put false things on your resume. Don’t say you know people that you don’t.
