Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 19. I will then key in on my verse for the day, verse 10 - Luxury is not fitting for a fool, Much less for a servant to rule over princes. Friends, while Jesus was on Earth, He didn't concern Himself with luxury. As a matter of fact he very often didn't even have a place to lay His head at night. On today's podcast I celebrate the 600th episode of this podcast. I would like to thank each and every one of you that has listened to even one episode. Truly, without you, this podcast would mean nothing. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. Without love, nothing you do in life truly matters.

2. Love never fails.

3. Love is the most important thing in the world.

Call to Action - Go to 1 Corinthians, chapter 13, verses 4-8 & insert your name prior to reading each of these verses. I ask that you actually do it out loud. I want you to hear your voice make these declarations. Then - pray that God would help you take a step in the direction to begin to live your life in a way that would make those declarations come to pass.

Friends, may I suggest the the "fool" in this verse is a non-Christian - one who has chosen to follow his own path in life, and not the life of following Jesus. 1. Ask, Seek, Knock

2. Everyone who asks receives, he who seeks finds, & to him who knocks it will be opened.

This is really powerful verse, especially in light of today's lesson. On today's podcast we will continue our study of the Gospel, according to Luke. I will begin the podcast by reviewing the lesson learned on Monday's podcast - where we discussed the Lord's Prayer. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. Please don't visit your friend at midnight.

2. You may end up regretting it (if you do).

3. Being persistent may end up costing you a friend.

Call to action - Please ponder this question - Do you have any friends (at all) that you would open up your house at midnight to entertain them? Any chance you would consider having more than one (or two- or more)? After all, we are to be hospitable Christians, correct?

Friends, what comes out of our mouths is extremely important, but even more important is the delivery (and tone) of those words. We can say the right words, but if they are delivered with a frown on our face, or with a harsh tone, they will not be well received. On today's podcast we will continue our study in the Gospel, according to Luke. Today we will begin Chapter 11. Going over the first 4 verses, we will take a look at the "Model Prayer." By the end of this lesson there are three things that I ask that you consider:

1. We should begin each prayer by acknowledging God.

2. We should ask God to meet our needs.

3. We should ask God to forgive us of our sins.

Call to Action - Ask yourselves this question - When you know that you are about to speak, are you aware of the mood you are in (or of the expression on your face) prior to releasing those words?

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 12. I will then key in on verse 14 - A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, And the recompense of a man's hands will be rendered to him. Friends, Proverb 18:21 tells us that Death and Life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat it's fruit. Friends, we can bring forth life (with our words), or we can bring forth death (with our words). On today's lesson we will elaborate a bit on yesterday's lesson. After completing today's lesson there are three things that I ask that you consider:

1. James and John ask Jesus for favor.

2. The cost of discipleship is steep.

3. We are all called to serve - not to be served.

Call to Action - Ask yourself this question - in term of today's lesson, where do you stand? Are you careful with your words? Are you careful with the works of your hands? Do you primarily do good deeds, or do you use your hands to do evil?
