Joan Grant, whom I mention in the episode, wrote a series of books back in the 1940s that she called “far memory” stories - basically, her recollections of past lifetimes. In one such book, I don’t remember which, she mentions that she valued her freedom of expression over her survival, and as a result, was burned alive at the stake, as she put it: “an exceedingly unpleasant way to die”...! If you’re interested in past lives, I highly recommend her books as a way of sparking your own “far” memories.

In that vein, I also recommend Journey of a Red Soul by Marie Dion, the pen name of my dear friend Rosanne Romiglio-Ashley, whom I will be interviewing in a future episode. Her recollection of past Native lifetimes was profoundly healing for me, as well as helped awaken memories of some of my past timelines.

In this episode, I reflect on the power of the communication that occurs between bodies, even beyond conscious awareness, and how this exchange can inspire, move, and heal us. I share my personal experiences as a belly dancer and audience to renowned performers, witnessing the transformative nature of dance and its ability to touch our senses--and a tale channeled through me when I tapped into this age-old exchange.

I delve into the ancient Egyptian women's ritual dance called the zar, known for its trance-like states, and share a story inspired by a true account relayed by Sahra Saeeda, dance mentor and researcher, of women dancing the old dances on moonless nights, adding my own imagined/intuited elements.

I explore the concept of tarab, an ecstatic change in Arabic music, as a way to describe the transformational power of dance and the ability to shift the energy in a room. I draw parallels between the energetic impact of dance and our original roles as dancer priestesses, thinning the veil to the unseen world.

I encourage you to embrace flirting as a way to be present, tap into your feminine power (regardless of your body or identity), and spread joy to others. Then, I dare you! Give it a try, even in unexpected places, purely for the fun of it. Ultimately, flirting is a spiritual act and a practice for embracing one's infinite, magnetic power, spreading joy, and raising the collective vibe.

I felt guided by my ancestors to heal intergenerational issues during this trip, which was amazing… And, it hasn’t always been this way. I haven’t always been conscious of my soul’s purpose in the moment - and that is totally okay. Because the body’s logic, the body’s intuition, will take you where you need to go, if you choose to heed the call.
