Wow, we sure can talk! We've been stuck inside our house for quite some time now, so we got chatty. This week, we talk about trying Intrauterine Insemination. In the episode, we answer a few questions, and Ally rants for a bit about people trying to be "positive". Then we deep dive into all of the insanity that we endured during our first round of IUI.  Caution: a few curse words may have been dropped throughout the episode.

This week, we talk about Shane trying surgery for the first time! This episode details what technically was our first fertility treatment: Shane's varicocelectomy. We talk about what the procedure and recovery process were like, and some of the preliminary results that we saw within the first month post op. 

In this episode, we talk about trying to figure out what was going wrong. We get into the typical initial infertility workup, our diagnosis, and some additional diagnostic testing. Since we simply couldn't put a single episode together that described the both the logistical acrobatics of getting all of the initial testing done, plus the emotional train-wreck of this time period, we've decided to split it into two. We hope this gives you some insight into all the hoops we had to jump through before we could even begin the treatment phase!

We are really excited (and a bit anxious) to release our first episode, and here it is! This episode really gets into the nitty gritty of trying... "the sex way". 

Infertility is medically defined as "the failure to achieve a clinical pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourse", and that first year of infertility was truly difficult and surprising for us. This episode contains a lot of the emotional and physical aspects of trying to conceive, plus a few lessons in biology as well. Enjoy!

Welcome to our zeroth episode of Wise Tries! So, what exactly are we trying? Well, we're trying... to have a baby! And it's honestly just not going so well.

 We're super excited, and maybe also a little nervous, to start this podcast and to let you into a really vulnerable part of our lives. Hopefully we'll be able to use this platform to keep everyone updated, while spreading awareness about infertility and what "infertility" actually looks like for us.
