Wish Upon A Star with Anndell V. Banks and special guest,  Sharon Robertson, and artist from Washington DC - topics being creative, living a creative life, how art affects other disciplines.

Sharon Robinson is currently a resident of Washington, DC,  she was raised in New Jersey, has lived in Boston , and Los Angeles – she lived  in Portland Oregon for 22 years before moving to DC.  She has always loved art and pursued it throughout her life.  Sharon is a scholar, water -colorists, muralist and identifies her creative style as specializing in abstract painting, mixed media, mixed collage and painting artist.  She is primarily self taught but have taken classes and workshops being exposed to the professional techniques and design concepts which structured the basis of her artworks.  Sharon also studied and obtained  a Masters Degree in Urban Design and Community Development to strengthen her interest in the man-made environment.  After  working 25 years in the urban transit and planning field she felt the desire to continue her artistic pursuit.  Hence,  Sharon became a full-time artist in 1999.  Her art career has channeled her into  teaching and showing her artworks in galleries, exhibits in the Pacific northwest,  and  in Washington DC.  She also lends her  time as a consultant in managing art programs and events for local government agencies, nonprofit arts organizations and major west coast art festivals - as well as working in a gallery.  Sharon lives and maintains her art studio in Washington DC.

Heather McKenzie was born on the Island of Jamaica and immigrated to the United States at the age of fifteen. She has always had a great love for words and languages. Her life long desire and dream have always been to study foreign languages. Heather wrote her first two poems, “Christmas Tree”, and “Little Robin”, at the age of twelve. She was inspired when she became delighted about a decorated Christmas tree planted out side her grandmother’s yard in Jamaica and about a little bird, she called Robin that she watched building its nest. Heather holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore and is an Alumnae of Baltimore City Community College.

Wish Upon A Star with Anndell V. Banks and guest Dr. Wendell Jackson

Dr. Jackson  is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, he received a B.A. degree in English from Loyola College, Baltimore.  Dr. Wendell Jackson received his  Masters and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts in English and American Language and Literature.  For over 35 years until his retirement, Dr. Jackson served as an Associate Professor of English at Morgan State University, Baltimore.  At Morgan he taught Composition, Advanced Grammar, Linguistics, Humanities, American,  British Literature, and African American also Literary Criticism.  He has published on the Humanities, on Literary Creative Theory and publishing  on  American writers Charles Waddell Chestnutt and Ralph Waldo Emerson. 

Dr.Jackson is co-author of “Humanities In The Ancient Pre-Modern World”  and  is currently conducting research on the Literary Creative Process.
