Start your fire magic with an incantation or poem to attract the fire fairies and have them bless your ritual.

Fire Rituals 101

The priestesses of the past kept the sacred flame alive and prayed for successful harvests, safety of their livestock, and the protection of people. To this day, we still use fire to manifest success, and to obtain protection, power, and purification. Fire is alive (and you cannot tell us otherwise). It has a spirit and wisdom. We ask the fire for what we need, and allow it to burn away what no longer serves us.

Here’s the easiest ways to work with the element of fire:

* Lighting a candle or fire and reflecting on your intention as you stare into the flames. If it’s a candle, blow it out and make a wish. Doesn’t that make you think you have been practicing witchcraft for a very long time?

* Don’t forget about smoke magic. Smudging clears stagnation so burn white sage or cedar and allow the smoke to rejuvenate the energy and chase away any unwanted vibes.

* Write down what you want to release on paper or bark, and burn it.

The snow moon is symbolic of scarcity and famine in this cold and barren time of year, but the moon is in Leo, a sign ruled by the sun.

So we have this duality between the sun and the moon, and illumination and darkness. We are transitioning and gaining Leo’s passion, creativity, and confidence but still in a period of reflection. We may even be feeling restless, as this energy wants us to be stoked and enthusiastic about our lives.

What a great time to start preparing for what’s next and to release what’s no longer serving us than with intention papers.

Grab a sheet of paper and on one side write what you are calling into your life and on the other side, what you are releasing. And then burn it!

Another tool to work with this moon is Howlite, which is a stone you can use specifically use for the full snow moon in Leo.
