The Messiah was to be hid in God, and God was to be revealed in the character of his son. Without a knowledge of God, humanity would be eternally lost. Without Divine help men and women would sink lower and lower.

The true object of education is to restore the image of God in the soul.

It was our Lord and savior who created the human soul, with his capacity for knowing and for loving. And he is not in himself such as to leave the demands of the soul unsatisfied. We need to clasp a hand that is warm, to trust in a heart full of tenderness. Even so God has in his word revealed himself.

Do not be moved from steadfastness by jeers or scoffs of those whose minds are given to vanity. Follow your savior through evil as well as good report.

Nothing is apparently more helpless, yet really more invincible, than the soul that feels it's nothingness, and relies wholly on the merits of the savior.

Christ will never abandon the soul for whom he has died. The soul may leave him, and be overwhelmed with temptation; but Christ can never turn from one for whom he has paid The Ransom of his own life.

In Christ crucified we are offered power sufficient to convert the soul and divinely adapted to enable us to resist all temptations to evil. Faith in God is our armor, his word is our weapon of warfare.

The sinner is exposed to eternal death, until he finds a hiding place in Christ; and as loitering and carelessness might rob the fugitive of his only chance for life, so delays and indifference may prove the ruin of the soul, Satan the great adversary, is on the track of every transgressor of God's holy law, and he who is not sensible of his danger, and does not earnestly seek shelter in the eternal refuge, will fall a prey to the destroyer.

In all the dealings of God with his people, there is, mingled with his love and mercy, the most striking evidence of his strict and impartial justice.

God can and will attend to your cry, and will let light shine into your heart and all around you; for through sincere prayer your soul is brought into connection with the mind of the infinite.
