It was the absolute sweetest time chatting with Trulah on this episode -- full disclosure, it was my error in pushing this episode out later than wanting / expecting to. We've had many guest on and the release date of each episode caught up with me. My sincere apologies to Trulah and you all.
Trulah is a singer, songwriter, and worship leader from Charlotte - her voice is silky smooth and filled with warmth. If I had to pick a mainstream artist that she resembles and comes to mind, it would be Norah Jones.
As shared in the episode, Jimmy and I first heard her at our church (Horizon Christian Fellowship San Diego). Pastor Phillip does an amazing job bringing in musical talent to lead worship at church and hearing Trulah was such a treat! I hope this episode brightens your soul and day.
p.s. Don't forget to listen and download her music from the below links :)
be blessed,

Excited is an understatement to how I am feeling sharing my conversation with Debbie, aka Heavenly Healthy Gourmet!
If you know me, you know I've been on a health journey, have done down many rabbit holes, for quite some time. Health has always played a role in my life since a teen. I remember my parents removing red meat, my brothers and I were devastated! Then we were THAT family that brought turkey burgers and hot dogs to all the potlucks and BBQ's. My parents also modeled an active lifestyle, which also included the many summer's where they would cancel cable television because, as my dad would say, "he didn't want couch potatoes" and our options were too "go outside and play or read a book." Looking back, I am thankful! To the point where I mimicked an active lifestyle with my daughter, taking her on walks on the beach, hiking, and trail running with me -aside from her playing sports. I incorporated educational talks, appropriate to her age. However, I do not know it all! Every year, I learn more and more. I'm a walking sponge trying to absorb as much as possible because it's not only for my own health but for Jimmy and Cassandra's, too. Health is wealth and knowledge is power.
My conversation with Debbie could have been so much longer and could have turned into many episodes --going to reach and see if she'll do a follow up episode :) Maybe, answer some of your questions?
Debbie is a breath of fresh air! She is a Southern California wife and mom, health coach practitioner, specializing in gut health, autoimmune, hormones and just ALL things health!
Debbie is the sweetest to speak with and filled with much knowledge. The main key factor I want you to gain is that most, if not all, illnesses can be treated simply by diet. Not going on a diet, like one of those fad's but a diet in the sense of her figuring out what is harming you and what is toxic. Debbie then creates a customized plan for YOU of the foods that you will benefit from and help heal, from the root, whatever the health issue you are having.
I hope you are encouraged and inspired with this episode, we would LOVE to hear your thoughts and please follow her (links below!).
Stay blessed!

How does the FRIENDS theme song go?
But, I'll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour.
Today, my longtime friend of over twenty years, Ernesto, joins me. We both have our share of trials and triumphs, we've only touched the surface on this episode but we touched on the depth of what friendship is and I give my "flowers" to him. I share how he was there for me and played a part in helping me navigate a big season of my life. Ernesto shares some of his life, some dark mental places he's been in, and went on to share how we can be there for others - family or friends.
It is often said, we can't pick who our family is but we can pick who our friends are.
I am so thankful for my friends. There are moments and seasons where we've been active in each other's lives to help one another out of them, or simply been a form of encouragement.
Pick your friends wisely and always be that good friend in return.
Make sure you checkout Ernesto's spot Barrio Dog at Petco Park, Barrio Logan, and his new spot in San Antonio!

Have a blessed day!
I will be the first to admit, there have been many times, naively, I lived off pure faith --which is great because that is how we should live. However, my purchases, some of my actions or decisions, what I consumed, what I cooked or baked for my family, and the list can go on, were made without thorough or well thought out thinking.
Example. I LOVE to bake, since I was a kid. I also enjoy purposely eating on the healthy and "clean" side. However, there were times when I would bake with artificial food coloring or bought my daughter candy that was filled with all the toxic chemicals. Yes, we've all been there. We simply did not know, then, but we do now understand the harm these toxins are to our health.
I was naive, stupid, un educated, and simply unintentionally being irresponsible -- I say this in the most graceful and compassionate way.
We don't know, until we know --as it is with everything in life. Right?
This year, in my now early 40's, I plan to intentionally live intentional.
Maybe it's all the news articles, social media, and youtube videos that have caused many dips down the rabbit hole in all the subjects. Causing more awareness and even more questions.
In this episode, Jimmy and I speak as much as we can about all the ways we can be intentional in our day-to-day, in our family, health, and overall in life. We are not perfect but for those specific things that are of importance to you and your family, you will want to be intentional in. And, it is all baby steps because it can definitely be overwhelming and no one wants that.
If you enjoyed this episode, please give us all the stars and PLEASE share with your fam and friends. That would be the biggest blessing to us :)
God bless,
Priscilla
I'm so excited for you to hear this episode! My wonderful friend, Bethany MacIntosh, is a mother and wife to Pastor Phillip MacIntosh (whom we've had on the podcast a few times, checkout those episodes!). Bethany not only has a huge loving heart but she can also teach you how to box!
My heart has been wanting to create episodes of this podcast centered towards marriage, given the way our world is -filled with hurt, pain, and the list can go on. Having that healthy partner in your life to be that safe space and to create a home that is a place of refuge is truly needed.
Join us, as we chat about being a wife and how the word 'submissive' is taken so out of context and is twisted into everything but what it truly is.
AND don't forgot! Please share this podcast, subscribe, and rate :)
Stay blessed,
Priscilla
