After 26 years of teaching Rachel came to the realisation that she didn't fit. She loved working with kids but couldn’t understand the toxicity of adults in schools. 

Then a serious accident made her re-evaluate everything. Raw Learning was in the back of Rachel's mind but it wasn't until a friend came round one day and said I’ll help you that it began to come to life.

Dedicated to providing therapeutic and well-being-focused education in a natural, outdoor setting, it's a safe haven for children to develop an appreciation and understanding of the wonders of our natural environment through a process of discovery and exploration. 

The core mission is to help neurodivergent children, suspected or diagnosed, especially those who have struggled in a traditional educational environment build self-esteem, confidence and independence through self-discovery and connection with nature.  This means the work directly contributes to meaningful, positive change in the lives of children who need it most.

Commitment to well-being is at the heart of everything Raw Learning does.  The focus is on emotional and mental health before academics, ensuring that children feel safe, valued, and heard.  This approach fosters emotional intelligence, resilience and self-confidence, and creates a nurturing environment where both children and staff can thrive.  

As Director and Founder, Rachel gets to lead a team that prioritises happiness, mental health, and holistic development.
